Conclusion:
Good news: Emotional account of the abuse the author suffered
at the hands of IRA ‘volunteer’ and then the Republican movement
in Nothern Ireland.
Good news: Part 1: Focuses on the abuse that occured between 1997 and 1998
at the hands of an IRA member and Ms Cahill’s decision to go public with
these allegations in 2010.
Part 2: Focuses on the legal investigation, court case, online abuse and Ms Cahill’s
rise in politics and as a political commentator.
Personal: I knew nothing about this story as revealed in this harowing memoir.
We learn the details in Mairia’s extraordinary account of her ordeal,
and what it says about the modus operandi of the Republican movement in Ireland.
I’m not sure everybody will enjoy this book…it is a “rough” and difficult book to deal with.
This sounds so powerful, I really want to get to it.
Rough read…
